Donations for initial veterinary costs, and home needed - Click this link for more pictures and info This adorable little puppy was being attacked in front of our house a couple of days ago by 3 bigger dogs. She was scared, filthy, and hungry, but very sweet and friendly, she doesn't appear to have been abused by humans. We're trying to raise funds to get her de-wormed, vaccinated, and neutered, and with the help of Rescate Animal Cuenca, we'll try to find her a forever home. This girl's really hard to resist, if I didn't have 5 dogs already, I would have to keep her for sure, she's so sweet, snuggly, and just adorable. The initial veterinary costs to get get her eligible for adoption total around $150, if you can make any contribution amount, you can paypal me at [email protected] (Bodhi Kroll) and I'll pay the veterinarian cash. I'm happy to provide proof / verification of costs. I can also follow up with pictures of this lovely girl so you more of the little angel you've helped. Please let me know if you can help in any way. Below are a couple of pictures of the last sweet little pups that we were grateful to be able to help, we had two generous donors that paid for their initial veterinarian cost, thank you, you know who you are! Rescate Animal Cuenca found both of these lovelies good, loving homes!

Rescate Animal Cuenca is a volunteer group dedicated to helping animals in and around Cuenca. They help sick, injured and neglected animals born in the street or abandoned there. Their goal is to nurse these animals back to health so they can be adopted. Rescate Animal Cuenca utilizes foster homes to aid in the care and nurturing of their rescues. The foster parents provide shelter and love while the volunteers help take the rescues to the vet for medicine, check-ups, de-fleaing, de-worming and sterilization. With so many animals in need Rescate Animal Cuenca has very high vet bills. Please purchase these healthy delicious liver treats to help support this great organization and the animals they help every day. "Chicken Stew with lowered Phosphorus" - We are very happy to announce that we have begun working with Cuenca's wonderful Veterinarian, Doctor Mora, to design healthy, gourmet, human grade food for cats and dogs with various health issues, many caused by eating food of poor quality. We are starting here with food designed for cats and dogs with Kidney disease / CRF. This is becoming an issue of epidemic proportions, particularly in cats, in many cases, due to eating kibble, which does not have enough moisture content for good health. We're very happy with our first recipe, "Chicken Stew - lowered Phosphorus", a delectable dish that our kitties love. It has 58% fresh, human grade, whole Chicken, we use everything except the head and feet so there's a good natural ratio of dark meat, white meat, skin, fat, organ meat. We use 75% to provide calcium, but not so much so as to cause constipation. We cook everything until the bones are soft, and then everything is ground up. We include 20% Quinoa, 10% Beans, I used a mix of red and green beans for their high protein / fiber, cooked till soft, pureed, and then cooked further in Chicken broth to make them more palatable for picky eaters. 10% - Egg whites. Egg whites are great because they're high protein and low phosphorus. Parmesan cheese - great for taste, protein, and it's low in phosphorus. 2% - Taurine. I then added Alaskan Salmon oil and pro-biotics, based on the daily recommendations for a 10Ib cat. Taurine is nearly impossible to over-do, so if your pet weighs less than 10Ibs, this is not a problem. If your pet is over 10Ibs, let us know and we can provide you with a little extra taurine, for cats, getting enough of this is crucial. If you would like more Salmon oil or pro-biotics, we can also provide you with this, please inquire. Stay tuned for our special Thanksgiving menu coming soon!
This just made me smile so much, I had to share. A new kitty client, who's had a long standing issue with itchy skin reactions to lots of different cat food, as well as a finally cleared up U.T. infection, tried our "cheeky chicken" cat food for the first time today. Well she just sent me the cutest email response: The subject line of the email read "Chewy chicken", I thought Oh no, the the kitty didn't like it. Oh no, the chicken was chewy? But then I opened the email, and it read: "Dear Hayley, I love my new food! What a nice treat! Mom is giving me just a little bit to be sure I don't itch but she is pretty sure that this Chewy Chicken is perfect for me. She has not let me have chicken in years you know. Please let mom know how she can get a lot more Chewy Chicken. Your friend, Ellie PS Got anything else I might like?" Awwwww, this is the best part of my job!
